Our Journey, September 2026

Asket x NATIVA™ Regenerative Merino Wool

We first introduced merino wool knitwear in 2016. By 2019 we managed to trace our wool all the way to the farm. In 2024 we committed to NATIVA™ Regen, a four-year program supporting Uruguayan merino wool farmers in their transition to— or already ongoing — regenerative farming practices.

Merino wool is sought after for its inherent qualities. It is natural, renewable, biodegradable, recyclable, breathable, temperature-regulating, odor-neutralising and requires minimal care. But its popularity has seen merino wool farming take on industrial scale, putting animal welfare at risk, resulting in increased methane emissions, soil degradation, erosion and loss of biodiversity due to overgrazing.

The purpose of regenerative farming, and the NATIVA™ Regen program, is to restore the natural balance. To heal soils, restore ecosystems, improve animal welfare, sequester carbon, and strengthen rural livelihoods. Each farm is assessed and given guidance through individual plans, encompassing both ethical animal and land management.

In 2025 our merino knits - sweaters, accessories and socks - starting shipping from wool sourced from nine handpicked Uruguayan farms part of the program. Now, our complete inventory of men's merino knits is from NATIVA™ Regen wool.

Sheep are raised ethically in harmony with nature — they graze on native plants and have space to roam. The program requires stress free shearing and the prohibition of mulesing.

Within the NATIVA Regen™ program, each farm is assessed and given guidance through individual plans, encompassing both ethical animal and land management.
